Served by public transportation from all areas of the city, Cobbs Creek Park contains the city's oldest golf course, a track, sport fields, bocce court, pool, the Laura Sims Skate House, and two waterfalls. Created in 1911 to protect Cobbs Creek, this 851-acre park winds through West and Southwest Philadelphia. The park features a 3.7-mile trail that connects several historic and educational sites. From the trail you can access the 58th Street Greenway, an off-road bike and pedestrian path. The Greenway will lead you to historic Bartram's Gardens and the Schuylkill River Trail. Cobbs Creek Recreation Center has a gymnasium and multi-purpose rooms. The former Cobbs Creek Stable, built in the 1930s, is now the Cobbs Creek Environmental Education Center.
