Black Lives Matter

It just doesn’t stop. Years of disinvestment in the neighborhoods of Philadelphia. COVID-19 hitting hard – and hitting African American, Latino and low-income communities hardest. A $12 million budget cut to Parks & Rec is devastating to the entire city. Again, this hits African American, Latino, and low-income communities the hardest.

Great parks and Recreation Centers are safe spaces – often an oasis for children and adults where home, neighborhood streets or even schools do not feel safe. COVID-19 has only made this situation worse.

In a summer that is challenging Parks & Rec in ways that are unprecedented, the Parks Alliance launched our Tools for Heroes COVID-19 Response Fund.
